Logistics Specialist Clinical Distribution
Background:
The Clinical Distribution organization’s objective is to cost-effectively ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time every time, such that no patient will go without treatment and no clinical trial will be delayed.
The Logistics Specialist is a key member of the Network & Capability chapter, which is jointly accountable for all elements of clinical supply chain distribution for the global Roche/Genentech portfolio of >500 studies. The global Network & Capability chapter is responsible for the logistic framework and setup to enable optimized and reliable clinical distribution for all studies (more than 100k shipments yearly across >130 countries).
The Logistics Specialist role executes all shipments and ensures they are processed without interruptions and in line with country requirements. The Logistics Specialist partners closely with the internal and external logistics partners and the broader distribution community (incl. all Chapters), IT and the Roche network to enable the portfolio and pipeline delivery.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Operational order management and handling of clinical supply shipments (incl. IMP), incl. drop shipments were applicable
- Responsible to manage all relevant documents/licenses considering country specific requirements
- Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery to proactively address potential challenges and interruptions
- Responsible for managing and keeping country specific requirements and keeping them up to date
- Acts as the main contact for stakeholders and partners on all shipping and logistics related questions and activities
- Keeps all stakeholders and business partners actively involved and ensures continued communication by leveraging systems, dashboards and data analytics
- Closely collaborates with the various site logistics teams, incl. warehouse (KAU and SSF), transportation and customs management
- Participate in global projects that aim to improve the overall supply-chain management functions and performance (project support, UAT, system monitoring and housekeeping)
- Provide support and advanced knowledge for specific and clinical distribution related shipping processes and related systems
- Identify and drive root cause analysis and process and performance improvements
- Responsible for managing logistics and distribution related performance insights and metrics
Must Haves:
- Vocational Degree (Eidgenössische Ausbildung or BA) in a technical, business or supply chain field or associated relevant experience
- Min. 2-3+ years experience in (clinical) E2E supply chain management, distribution or logistics
- Excellent English & proficient German skills, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills
- Affinity for the use of IT applications (customer portal order entry, etc.)
- Be a courageous, inclusive, and servant contributor
- Cross-functional / cross-cultural experience
Nice to Have:
- SAP experience
- APICS and/or SCOR certification, or associated relevant experience
