Laboratory Technician
Background:
Our Instrumental Analytics department is a key part of Reagent Research and Design. We develop, validate, and implement a wide range of analytical methods using technologies such as Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, digital PCR, and FTIR microscopy. Alongside routine activities, we are involved in research projects where we explore and evaluate new approaches. We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician (Research Assistant) who enjoys working in a hands-on, multi-technology environment. In this role, you will work with different analytical platforms and have the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise across a variety of instruments. You will be part of a collaborative team that values reliability, curiosity, and practical problem-solving.
The ideal candidate has completed training as a Laboratory Technician or holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent and brings 2-3 years of laboratory experience. You have a curious, open mind and enjoy thinking beyond conventional approaches. You are receptive to new ideas and work well as part of a team. You communicate confidently in English. Experience with statistical data analysis and German language skills is a plus.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Plan analysis with support from supervisory staff
- Prepare standards and samples
- Perform experiments on different instruments
- Data analysis with support from supervisory staff
- Document experiments
- Escalate issues when things are not going according to plan
- Recommend next steps based on data generated
- Drive efforts to gain efficiency within work packages
- Organize and manage their own time within the scope of assigned work packages
- Ordering and maintaining stocks of material
Must Haves:
- Completed Education as Lab Technician (Analytical Chemistry/Chemistry/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology) (Highest education Bachelor)
- Min. 2-3 years of work experience in a Lab Environment within Academic research or Industry (Pharma, MedTech)
- Initial experience with Liquid Chromatography (Preferably PCR)
- First experience in statistical data analysis & evaluation
- Fluent in English
- Strong interest in practical lab work
- Able to think not only one directional but multidirectional
- Team player
