Global Project Manager

Background:

We are looking for a Principal  Project Manager (PM) to manage a range of projects, based on their stage and complexity. This role encompasses a variety of assignments including development pipeline, line extensions, post-approval, technology, and continuous improvement initiatives. The PM will work independently, effectively prioritizing and managing workload to meet team goals with limited direction. The role includes flexibility for global time zone interactions and occasional travel to external partners for collaboration and planning activities.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Translate device and development strategies into actionable project and development plans
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Design & Development Plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and design control deliverables on time
  • Ensure effective communication and transparent reporting of project progress, risks, and key decisions
  • Facilitate team meetings, decision-making processes, and issue resolution within a regulated environment
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, including the development and implementation of mitigation and contingency plans
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and change control throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Coordinate and integrate deliverables across cross-functional teams and key stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment through team-building and stakeholder engagement
  • Apply project management best practices and tools for planning, communication, risk management, knowledge management, and budget control
  • Establish and maintain centralized project documentation and knowledge repositories, including lessons learned activities
  • Support governance, stage-gate, and review processes to ensure compliance and project quality standards
  • Act as backup for team leadership communication and coordination activities when required
  • Forecast, monitor, and optimize project resources and costs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by implementing process enhancements, optimizing project management tools, and promoting best practices across teams
  • Drive knowledge sharing and organizational learning through effective communication of project insights and lessons learned

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Min. 8 to 11 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a relevant industry, preferably within a global medical device, pharmaceutical, or biopharmaceutical company
  • Experience in project management in drug and/or medical device development and commercialization, particularly with combination products 
  • Proficiency in Project Management best practices and software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Google suite)
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of 21CFR820.30 design control requirements 
  • Experience with vendor / partner collaboration
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Fluent English is required. German, Japanese or Danish is of advantage
