Development Engineer Cartridge Fluidics 80-100%(m/f/d)

Background:
Roche Diagnostics is providing Point-of-Care BGE systems for the measurement of blood gasses, electrolytes and metabolites in human blood samples. In our R&D Chapter “Sensor and Reagent Development BGE (DSRPB)” we develop and transfer to production novel sensor cartridges - functional consumables for multiple measurements - as one of the core system components. To strengthen our interdisciplinary team, we are looking for a competent Development Engineer Cartridge Fluidics.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Working in an interdisciplinary team of development engineers to test and optimize novel sensor cassettes for BG/E systems
  • Defining the methodology for fluidic performance testing in alignment with the development team
  • Improving and maintaining the test equipment (fluidic components, visual inspection) and the test methods (workflows, image analysis, automation)
  • Planning and execution of fluidic testing of sensor cassettes by both exploratory and protocol based testing
  • Assessment and reporting of the test observations, especially with respect to fluidic performance, to improve the test methods and the sensor cartridge design
  • Support the project team to ensure project deliverables, quality, and timeline

Must Haves:

  • Background in microfluidics from technical training and/or job experience (e.g. Bachelor or Master degree)
  • Min. 3 years of work experience with fluidic components experience in a GMP regulated environment is a plus
  • Knowledge about operating principles and areas of application of fluidic component, like valves, pumps, fittings, etc. 
  • Experience with hands-on component analysis and functional testing, including involvement in the according test equipment and methods
  • Experience in test planning, execution, and reporting. You understand testing as a key factor for successful development 
  • You are a technically interested persons who also wants to understand the test subject and it’s environment and application
  • You are highly motivated to deliver results for the development and find passion in promoting and driving fast-paced and ambitious projects
  • Proficient in English and good communication skills in German
