The group excels in its work through innovation, teamwork, dedication, and mutual respect and contributes every single day to bring new therapies to life and hope to patients. “Synthetic Molecules Technical Development” (PTDC) brings a broad range of experience across drug substance, drug product, and analytical sciences, and collaborates closely with partners in research and early development, Pharma Technical Development, and Commercial. PTDC is responsible for the technical development of our synthetic molecules pipeline and the manufacture of clinical supplies for clinical studies.
The position on offer is located in Analytical Research and Development for Synthetic molecules within Pharma Technical Development. Analytical Development for synthetic molecules is responsible for the development of resource and cost-efficient analytical methods by use of state of the art and innovative techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography, gas or ion chromatography or mass spectrometry. The ultimate goal of our work is the development of a robust control strategy to release products for clinical trials, and finally for commercial supply.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Performing routine measurements for Oligonucleotides (mainly HPLC with UV and/or Single Quad MS detection)
- Planning, executing, and documenting experiments collaboratively in a team of five associates.
- Use chromatographic data systems like Empower or OpenLab to control analytical instruments.
- Evaluate data with Genedata or Oligo Analysis Accelerator
- Developing, improving, and validating analytical methods for the quality assessment of Oligonucleotides.
- Ensuring compliance with GxP guidelines and relevant SOPs.
Must Haves:
- a vocational scientific qualification as chemical laboratory technician (e.g. apprenticeship) with at least 2-3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (No Studies Degree; No Master or PhD)
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques (e.g., HPLC, MS)
- Interest or background in analytical development for oligonucleotides
- Strong knowledge of LC-MS applications and instruments is a plus
- Experience with large molecules/biologics analytics is an advantage
- Self-motivated, proactive, open-minded, goal-oriented, and a strong team player
- Stringent quality mindset, excellent attention to detail, and knowledge of GxP requirements across clinical phases.
- Good command of English; German proficiency is beneficial.
